Ian Gibson简介
Ian Gibson is a 3D Printing dinosaur. He started working with the technology in 1992 at Nottingham University, where he helped set up the first Rapid Prototyping (as 3DP was called then) research facility in the UK. He moved to Hong Kong University in 1994, just after he helped establish the Rapid Prototyping Journal (he is currently the editor for Asia Pacific region), where he established a world-class facility and gained a reputation for novel applications research. It was here that he helped set up the Global Alliance of Rapid Prototyping Associations. He went to National University of Singapore in 2005, where he gained knowledge in the field of tissue engineering and medical applications. He also started to take an active interest in design and education using 3D Printing and it was for this reason he released the Springer text 'Additive Manufacturing'. Earlier this year he moved to Deakin University as Professor of Industrial Design, where he is spearheading the implementation of the new and ground-breaking Centre for Advanced Design and Engineering Training.
