主讲人简介:érika Boisvert-Vigneault is a postgraduate researcher at Northumbria University (UK), specialising in the impacts of extreme weather events on Arctic snow cover. She completed a master’s degree in remote sensing of the cryosphere at the Université de Sherbrooke (Canada) under the supervision of Prof. Alexandre Langlois, and worked five years for Environment and Climate Change Canada, providing expertise on Arctic snow through snow modelling and ecological data interpretation. She also have extensive fieldwork experience in Arctic and sub-Arctic tundra environments. Her current research focuses on monitoring and predicting rain-on-snow events in the Canadian Arctic, under the supervision of Prof. Melody Sandells. She combine snow models, meteorological forecasts, and remote sensing to develop a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying these extreme events. This knowledge will enable more accurate predictions of their intensity and frequency under future climate?conditions.
